New Monkey @ EekBouteek!

New Plush for EekBouteek.. meet Cheddar, a polite primate, second of a series of personable monkeys by yours truly. The first of this series, Slim the Monk, a rascal monkey in black/white houndstooth, found a home in the Design District and has been renamed Cecilio, after my mom, oddly enough..
Anyway, here’s some choppy step-by-steps and pics on what went down.

1. Choose expensive (or not :P) fabric, design body parts, make pattern :) Showing here, Slim the Monk, 1st of the series.

2. Cut out your pieces, make a monkey face, stitch it on and start making limbs!

3. Once you have monkey limbs (and your male monkey parts) carefully pin it all together inside out, leaving the bottom free.

4. Once ears and arms are in place, stitch all the way around 3 sides, leaving the bottom open to stuff and add legs and optional boy parts. Once stuffed and legs in place, pin the bottom and stitch across in a matching thread.

5. Ta-da! Name it, kiss it, do whatever you like, but post me your pics if you try your own!
Check out eekbouteek.etsy.com to adopt Cheddar. There’s one more monkey on the way and he’ll be done tomorrow.. but its bedtime folks. Have a fun one :)

Hung out at Art Battles a few weeks back… cool concept & great work! Went to support Kazilla and got to see and meet some other great artists! Can’t wait to get back out in the scene and check out the next ArtWalk!

This week’s makeover…
Went thrift-shopping and found this amazing globe @ Bargain Barn in Wynwood for $15! After some TLC, black paint and some new felt, I have a great new frame for my great find!
Enjoy :)
